It all began during his pursuit of a Secondary Teachers’ Certificate at the National Teachers’ Training College in 1999-2000. Creative writing became more than just a college requirement; it was a means to showcase the skills acquired during his education. Writing gradually transformed from a hobby to a complete manuscript, culminating in Rise Again. Now a 50-year-old full-time teacher and educator in Lesotho, the poet’s career is at its peak.
About Author
Ngoanannete David Lekhanya, born and raised in Thaba-Tseka, Lesotho, grew up balancing school and herding animals. After completing his education at various schools, he worked in a factory before enrolling in senior secondary school. Later, he joined the dam construction industry for six years before pursuing a teaching career. Lekhanya’s passion for writing began during his time at the National Teacher Training College (now Lesotho College of Education). He taught at different schools, obtained a B.Ed. degree, and eventually became a lecturer at the National University of Lesotho.
