Description

“प्ररूढाना हशिल्याना रुजं कुर्वन्तर्ता मानसे । वाक्शल्यानां तु रुग्रेया न च तेषां चकित्सितिम् ॥” In a verse of Subhāṣita, the literary genre of moral aphorisms in Sanskrit, it is said that it hurts if the body is hit, but the hurt eventually fades with time; the scar, however, always remains. If the mind is hurt, a scar does not form, but the hurt always remains.
