Description

“Horizon Hunters” is about lives that leave an indelible imprint on the mind even as they, consciously or unconsciously, set out on a spiral of discovery to reach the possibly impenetrable for which the soul panteth – the horizon which becomes the cordis of their life’s journey. In the grip of destiny, they often surmount the barriers of time and space, and go hunting for the horizon, to know that mysterious unknown which might be an answer to many of the disconnected fragments in their lives.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Shikha Chatterjee is an Assistant Professor in English in the Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj, with a wide spectrum of interests. Born in Prayagraj (erstwhile Allahabad), India, she has had her initial education in its famous missionary school, St. Mary’s Convent Inter College. She went on to pursue her higher studies in the University of Allahabad and took her Doctoral degree from the same institution. A creative writer with a passion for painting, she loves to celebrate life by playing with its dappled colours and navigating through its strange cacophony to capture the myriad expressions of fantasy and reality that build up a fascinating kaleidoscope. A contemporary poet, she has contributed poems to anthologies and online pages. Her scholarly articles have appeared in academic journals. Her article on Rabindra Sangeet features in the souvenir released by the Allahabad Museum on the occasion of Tagore’s 150th birth anniversary. Besides, she has also authored the book, “The Indian Identity Through Rao’s Symbolism & Style” and collaborated with an internationally renowned Hindi scholar for a bilingual book, “Bhojpuri Loriki part – 2”, currently available in the U.S. Library of Congress. She has attended national and international conferences and international poetry festivals. A nature lover and heritage enthusiast, she is fond of travelling. A trained vocalist in Indian classical music, she is fond of both Eastern and Western music and loves to weave their rhythm into the fabric of her writing.

Born in Kerala and brought up in North India, in the city of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Elwin Dillu is a keen observer and writer. Although he noticed his flair for writing as he explored English Literature in his pursuit for Bachelor of Arts from Ewing Christian College, followed by Master of Arts at the University of Allahabad, in Prayagraj, he became a published author with his book, “Breathing verses”.

Following which, he has contributed to several other poetry compilations, viz. “Arz-Hai”, and “Many a Moon”, and a short-story compilation, “Err & Or”. He has also co-authored a Hindi poetry compilation titled “Rang-Berang” along with a dexterous photographer and writer, Gorky Sinha.

His writings often have unique styles of event-description and personification, and interesting visualization-aids, often resultant of the diverse atmospheres he has been in, as he writes with a hope to bring the hidden to light.
