ABOUT THE AUTHOR

V. K. Singh IR A Retired from LIC of India in 2010 as Manager (CRM/CPIO). He has an experience of five decades as veteran trade union leader, and social-political-cultural activist. Ex-editor of the central mouthpiece magazine of LICI Class I Officers Federation, “OUR VOICE”. He is a regular contributor of articles and poems on contemporary TU movement and social-political matters in reputed magazines and periodicals. Street theatre performance and direction.

He is the organizer and mentor of a unique experimental movement of collective community living and creativity “KALA KAMMUNE” in Varanasi : about forty young and upcoming artists from across the country (especially from UP, Bihar, and Jharkhand) in the fields of painting, sculpture, ceramic arts, music, and theatre used to live under single roof, collectively striving towards ideological maturity and intersectional creativity. Group successfully organised number of exhibitions, performances, seminars in different parts of Northern India with annual culmination in three days open-air exhibition-cum- fete “UMMEEDEN” (Hope), at Ganges riverbank in Varanasi. The experiment successfully continued for more thar twelve years from 1999 to 2012.

Started new innings of life as independent researcher and author (Hindi and English) after retirement in the fields of economics, politics and gender discourse. Well acclaimed and authentic biographies of Fidel Castro and Che Guevara in Hindi have been published by a well-known New Delhi based publisher.  A biography of Hugo Chavez and a comprehensive discourse on gender “ औरत : समूची जमीन और समूचे आसमान के सपने और संघर्ष” are under publication. Books on the history of trade union movement in India, biography of Ho Chi Minh and globalisation in Hindi are under publication with other reputed publishers.
