About The Author
Prof. Kenneth Oluoch lectures Political Science at Moi University, Kenya. He holds PhD in Political Science from University of Nairobi and has MA and BA from University of Nevada, Reno, USA. He is an Associate Professor of International Relations and is the current Chair of the Department of History, Political Science and Public Administration of Moi University. His research areas are International Relations, National Security and Foreign Policy, International Security, Human Rights, Forced Human Migrations, Conflict and Conflict Management, and International Political Economy. He is the author of “HIV/AIDS in Africa and Globally: Reconciling Public Health and Human Rights”, “Implementation of International Refugee Law: Case of Kenya”, “Foreign Policy and the Threat of Global Terrorism: Kenya’s Military Intervention in Somalia”. He has also authored and co-authored several papers in refereed journals and book chapters.
Michael Mawa is a scholar, researcher, trainer and higher education quality assurance expert and manager in Uganda. He is currently the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Uganda Martyrs University and an Associate Professor of Ethics, Human Rights and Human Development at the same institution. He is also a visiting professor at Ludwigshafen University of Business in Germany. He holds a BA in Ethics and Development Studies (UMU); MA in Applied Ethics (KULeven); and Doctorate in Social Sciences (Human Rights) (PUST – Angelicum). Michael Mawa has researched and published books and numerous book chapters and journal articles in the areas of Ethics, Human Rights and Human Development. His book, Humanitarian Action and Human Rights in Africa Since 1990 published in 2005 is still sought after in book stores.
Dr. Thomas Otieno Juma, a graduate of Kisii, Nkumba, and Bugema Universities for PhD, MA, and undergraduate respectively, is currently a Lecturer of Public Admin at University of Kabianga. Previously he lectured on Political Science at The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) Nairobi after having been lecturer at Moi, Rongo, and Kisii Universities respectively for the same discipline.
