Description
This is a story of the clash of Christianity with the African traditional religion. Ehizogie, a fugitive fled his kingdom only to become the Chief Priest of the highly revered Inunu deity in a strange distant land. Intoxicated by the inherent powers of his new office, he turned a tyrant unleashing terror upon the land on any perceived opposition. The murder of a Christian missionary, Rev. Macpherson in the height of the Usoro Inunu Festival pitched the European Colonial Government against the Chief Priest which led to his arrest, trial and suicide in detention to avoid humiliation.
