‘Tales From Ethiope’ is a collection of three short stories namely; ‘Rukky the Rat’, ‘Knock! Knock!’ and ‘Mr. Long Ear’. The stories are aimed at entertaining and educating young children. ‘Rukky the Rat’ and ‘Mr. Long Ear’ are animal fables while ‘Knock! Knock!’ have human characters. The general themes of the stories are hinged on the socio-cultural values of every human society; hard work, honesty, taking personal responsibility and the dangers of greed and selfishness. The stories will hold the reader’s attention as the characters engage in several schemes in a bid to make ends meet.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Mr. Lucky Sunday Oghuvwu was born on 18th June, 1972. He hails from Urhovie-Abraka, Ethiope-East LGA of Delta State, Nigeria. He studied English/French at Niger State College of Education where he acquired NCE in 2000. He has a Diploma in Multimedia from NIIT, Warri (2014). He also has a certificate in Photography and Videography from BESAC, Warri (2019). He is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English Language and Literary Studies at Kings University, Odeomu, Osun State.

He is a teacher with over 15 year experience in tutoring and mentoring Primary and Secondary school students. He is the proprietor of Les Petits Anges Nursery and Primary School, Warri. He is a Fellow of International Institute of Chattered Educational Practitioners (IICEP) and also a Fellow of Royal Institute of Chattered Administration and Management Technology (RICAMT)

He is a prolific writer whose works have been published in several anthologies, some of which include Dancesteps of Dawn (ANA Niger, Anthology of Poems, 1997), A Volcano of Voices (ANA Anthology of Poems 1999), Cramped Room and Open Spaces (ANA Anthology of Short Fictions, 1999). In 2000 he self-published his first bilingual play titled Mr. Culture (Monsieur La Culture).  He is currently on the Editorial Board of Kings University’s News Bulletin as a student contributor. He is also a Graphic Designer and a Photography enthusiast.

He is currently a parish pastor at RCCG Jesus Arena, Ubeji. He is married to Mrs. Dupe Tracy Oghuvwu and lives in Warri with his family.
