Description

Any society has highs and lows brought about by its own makers. When peace is in existence, everyone thrives, debts are freely given and paid back in love and happiness, social interaction is unlimited, until one of the members decides to become cheeky.  He will abandon his responsibility to pay back a debt, fail to honour his promise to take care of his kin or lie that the land that he occupies was given to him by this forefathers.

Once this happens, The Chief’s Court will come calling; a court made of elders whose mantra is justice to all and sundry. And such a fellow who breaches the rules of the clan will be taken through the justice process as instituted by the councils of The Chief’s Court.

This is the glue which the society is bound with; the glue of Justice. The glue that is melted at the Chief’s Court and administered by the elders. The Chief’s Court is a story that reflects the effectiveness of traditional justice system and its ability to reinstate order in a society that has been encroached by dishonest characters. The story offers a panacea and an alternative to failing modern justice process.
