That some are fun-rides, some serious races for time!

Some with definite destinations! Some explore new territory!

That we can both learn to do the uphills, and the downhills of life better.

That the uphills are hard and slow, but the downhills, though easier and faster, can be dangerous. We need to be careful, lest we crash and hurt ourselves—and bring down others around us.

Also, that we must choose carefully the groups we ride with—to go with those who challenge us, and not spend too much time with those who make us look and feel superior. And so forth. . .

In 1999 Aron Gersh cycled from the west coast to the east coast of America, 3,555 miles, in 26 days, averaging 135 miles per day.

He practised as a Humanistic Psychotherapist in London for 8 years and then ran one of the UK’s psychology magazines, Human Potential, for 7 years. He has a special interest in how metaphors provide a keyhole to our inner experience of life.

Still a dedicated cyclist at 77 years of age, regularly doing 65-mile races, he wanted to express how cycling can be a wise metaphor for our lives. After all, “Life is a journey”.
