Description
This book explores the urban landscape and expansion of Karachi, Pakistan’s largest metropolitan hub—a city that embodies resilience even in adversity. It vividly illustrates the role of thriving cities in developing countries and their impact on economic well-being.
As Pakistan’s commercial and financial center, Karachi holds immense promise due to its strategic location and seaport. However, rapid, unplanned urbanization and a crumbling infrastructure have led to gentrification and deepening urban divides.
This work serves as a crucial guide for urban planners, offering insights into sustainable policies to safeguard the city’s future and improve the lives of Karachi’s residents.
