Description

The book tells a story of a young man from a relatively poor background where western education was not given high priority. Due to Divine intervention and hard work, he was able to get educated and excel in his chosen fields. He was determined to break the jinx of low preference for education and ensured that all his children obtained University degrees in his lifetime.

About Author

Suleman Ibn Ahmed Mustafa was born on a Saturday, 24th August, 1957, in his hometown, Agbede, in the present Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

He was born to his Father, Alhaji Amedu Mustafa, by his mother, Hajia Habiba Mustafa, and he is one of the thirteen children born by his mother. However, he was her only surviving child out of six children born in succession. Two children born before him and the three born immediately after him – all died in infancy. The young Suleman, therefore, grew up mainly as a lonely child.

This development naturally made him enjoy some closeness with his mother and abundant motherly love from her, who pampered him in her own way. Despite this, Suleman was never a spoilt brat, and he learnt to do chores for his parents and take up responsibilities right from a young age.

Suleman attended FGC Sokoto for his Secondary Education and spent thirty years in the Banking profession. His Banking Career saw him travel to almost all the States in Nigeria and some other African countries. This, his attending a Unity School made him build many friends from all parts of Nigeria and beyond, across tribal and religious divides. He loves travelling, and he is happily married with eight adult children.

Now in retirement, Suleman lives a quiet life in Abuja and engages himself with community developments, philanthropy, counselling, alumni activities, and low-level politics. He also enjoys spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren.
