Description

An alumnus of the University De Oguaa, with his new friend, Aba, goes for a visit to the University De Oguaa. Arriving at the university, he finds some twenty-two student leaders who are oppressed by proctorial laws and have their education halted. He puts down his alumnus life and, also being a lawyer, takes the fate of the students into his hands. As he continues to discharge his legal duties, he discovers uncomfortable facts about his own university—the pot that schooled him—and his country.

Save Our Faces depicts the recent trends in Ghanaian institutions.

About Author

Godfred Nana Kruentsi is a Ghanaian writer. He is a grad student of Mary Baldwin University, USA. He has always been a lover of the thought-provoking writings of African writers, which preserve the African culture. Now, looking at how, in the past, some proctors marred his reputation to save their faces, he now believes that ‘African poetry’ must also have to dialogue the rigid culture of institutions which do away with civic virtues—and that is what he signals in this book. He finds it believable that the spirit of dictatorship is still walking in and hunting Ghanaian institutions. Some of his other works to be soon published are HamOthello: A Tragedy of Tragedies, Second ChanceWhy They Have to Look Like Us, and London.
