Description

Tourism Development in Sikkim: Economic Benefits and Conservation Linkages presents an in-depth exploration of how tourism shapes the economy and environment of the Sikkim Himalaya. Based on the author’s awarded Ph.D. thesis, the book examines the delicate balance between economic growth and ecological preservation. It offers valuable insights into the valuation of ecosystem services in the Yuksam-Dzongri trekking corridor—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and the sacred Khecheopalri Lake, known as the Wish-Fulfilling Lake. A vital resource for researchers, policymakers, and sustainability enthusiasts, this work bridges tourism, economy, and conservation.
